Christmas 2001 yielded surprises for Kellee in the form of passive aggressive gift giving. I had planned and purchased a trip to New York to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. In stead of giving the gift in a card or something, I instead purchased several symbols from the $1 store and wrapped them as gifts.
The first gift was a little plastic Airplane. (Symbol for taking a trip somewhere)

The second gift was beginning to get her wondering, what was going on. (I had hoped to secure the thought
of a longer stay trip) She was wondering what was going on.

As she finally got the second gift open, it revealed a little plastic barbie type suit case with various
Travel items in it. All miniature of course.

The looks on her face were priceless, she was trying to be so thankful. I was beginning to feel bad
that she had no idea why I was giving these gifts. (I had hoped this gift would lend ideas toward a destination)

The gift was a little statue with a child holding an Apple up in the air. By this time she had no idea
and it was almost painful to watch her summon the smiles and attempt to give thanks.
This last gift was a symbol for why we might be flying to the Big Apple.

It was a cheap little plastic mask cut out to look something like the Phantom Mask.
After I explained what they all meant, she was pleasantly surprised. We had a great trip and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
